I love Shanora- she always gives me the book feels. She
makes you work for the HEA- but I am ok with that. Sometimes romance isn’t all
fluff and rainbows- its dirt and nails, grit and grime. And that’s just part of
it. She makes me want so much more of everything that she writes. She has so
much depth to her writing too- and it’s a total “what would you do” type of
story. I am not a huge cheating story kind of fan- but what lies in this story,
is something so real, that it could actually happen. Plus, hello- its fiction!
It can be whatever it wants to be!
Griffin Boyd is the hero- and he is totally alpha, and a
gentleman. But over the years he senses his marriage to Colette is failing. He
can have all the success in the world, but all he wants is his wife’s
attention- and it’s something that she won’t ever give to him. She is
absolutely horrid, and you will hate her- just as much as I did. There were a
few snippets of her ways scattered throughout the story, and it was just enough
to make me hate her.
Angelina Clark is the heroine, and she is a great character-
with total backbone. But just as soon as she meets Griffin, she wants him. And
she finds out he’s married, that makes him hands of- until it doesn’t. She is
so strong and tough, and she just wants to be loved, and even though Griffin is
married, she seeks that love in him. But who wants to be second choice, when
she can be first place in someone else’s life.
You have to read this book to completely
understand what I am getting at when I say I didn’t think it so much as wrong
when they were together. Colette makes it easy to hate her, so you really just
want to root for Angelina. I can’t wait for Sudden Flames, I need it pronto! I
have to make sure Griff and Angel get their HEA they both deserve!!
