She was in Hell.
No one believed her.
Wasn't kiss-n-tell.
More like destroy and shatter.
Hardened and hurt, Sara Collins is determined to start over--try something new. Moving away from her painful past and refusing to let them win, she begins putting her life back together and planning a future for herself.
Falling in love with Izach Matthews was not part of Sara’s plan, but the attraction is immediate. Her heart races; her pulse quickens. She can't deny her feelings. For the first time in her life, Izach treats her like a lady--like a woman should really be treated. What draws her to him the most: he doesn't look at her like she's fragile and broken. But when her past is ripped open again, slapping her in the face, Sara's afraid he can't handle it--won't handle it. How can she pick the pieces back up and put her heart back together when it may shatter all over again?
“I received this ARC. I absolutely loved it. The depth of the main character Sara went beyond what I ever expected. I highly recommend this book. I would caution people with abuse in their past. This book could cause triggers. Kudos to you Susan Cairns, very well written & looking forward to more!” ~ Goodreads Reviewer
“This book is not for the faint of heart as it deals with some very difficult issues, but it handles them beautifully...I loved the realness of this story and it is written with such honesty that it comes together as a beautiful story!”~ Southern Yankee Book Reviews

At age 15, Sarah was broken. Innocence lost, a childhood ruined. At 23, Sarah is barely surviving. She doesn't trust and she certainly doesn't love. When she meets Izach, her landlord's grandson, she realizes he could be her game-changer.
"He places a sweet kiss on my lips that distracts me from my fit. Just trust me. I won't let anything happen to you. I want to believe him, but how can he protect something that's already broken."
Sometimes getting your life back on track is all about timing and sometimes it takes someone to believe in you. This book is all about healing and when Sarah finds herself abandoned by her family, it's Elaine, her landlord who protects her and cares for her and shows her that family is not all about blood relations. It's also about finding people who accept you and care for you no matter what.
I liked Sarah and Izach's story. Sarah was determined not to let her past dictate her future. She realized that Izach was good for her and opened her heart to the possibility of love. The secondary character, Elaine was a feisty old lady who made me laugh and I was so glad that Sarah found her.
