He was my everything.
I loved him.
For over twenty years.
And everyone knew, including him.
But he never loved me back.
Not once.
Not ever.
So I moved on.
Until now.
Now he's back, and wants to make me his.
He's everything I've ever wanted.
I should be happy.
But there's one problem.
My fiancé.

my 4 star review of Why Now?
I really enjoyed this story by Carey Heywood. It was really engaging and thought provoking with its content. This story is really fun, but also sexy- and very well written. Its high on the love, low on the angst, and it was just what i needed.
Kacey is the heroine and the main character- who had a HUGE crush on Jake, a guy from her youth. He took over control of her mind, and she was in love with him from a far, until twenty years down the road- when she finally gets proposed to by someone else, does Jake suddenly show interest.
Jake is and was her best friends older brother, and that crush has lasted forever. Something I didn't expect was that this was a love triangle of sorts. But beautifully written as two men are vying for the attention and heart of Kacey.
I love the dual POV and Carey has the male POV down to a tee. I had to read back to make sure i was reading the male or female perspective.
this was a fabulous story from a new to me author and i can't wait for more!
New York Times & USA Today bestselling author with 13 books out and many more to come. She was born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia. Ever the mild-manner citizen, Carey spend her days working in the world of finance, and at night, she retreats into the lives of her fictional characters.
Supporting her all the way are her husband, three sometimes-adorable children, their nine-pound attack Yorkie and their needy Ninja cat.
