What happens when the one you want is the only one you can't have?

My name is Sevin.

Homeschooled and sheltered by my ultra-religious family, I was always taught that lust was a sin.

Elle was the girl who'd been carefully chosen for me.

After a long-distance courtship, I'd be moving into her family's guesthouse so that we could get to know each other in the months before the wedding.

Boundaries were set: no inappropriate touching, no kissing, no sex before marriage.

I'd accepted those rules and my fate.

Until I met the one I wanted to sin with.

That was when restraint became a problem...especially since THE ONE wasn't Elle.

It was her sister, Evangeline.

You know what they say about best laid plans.

My name is Sevin, and I have sinned.

Told in alternating points of view, Sins of Sevin is a full-length standalone novel.
Contains graphic sexual content and harsh language.
Only appropriate for adult readers
age 18+.

My more than 5 stars review
“I forgive you.”
“How could you?”
“Because that’s how much I love you.”

I can't find words to describe how I'm feeling right now, but I am going to try to give this fantastic book the review it deserves. Penelope has always been one of my favorite authors, from the very first book in Gemini, to her last collaboration with Vi Keeland, Cocky Bastard. But this book was MORE, so much more than I have ever read from her.  And I can't compare it to Gemini because while it had the shock factor, it was more than that. And I won't compare it to my favorite Jake- because while Sevin reminded me of Jake in some ways- in others he was completely different. And I don't want to compare it to My Skylar because while Mitch had that same lost, and hopeless feeling as Sevin did, it was for a different reason. And the only way I'm comparing it to Elec- is that it's a forbidden romance. But not only is it forbidden- it's second chance, it's contemporary, it's erotic, it's romantic, it spans many years of life, it wrecked me, it was hauntingly beautiful, and every time I read a Penelope book I go into it expecting to feel a certain way- this book was no exception.

“How was it possible to hate someone and love them at the same time?”

I’ve not met a hero quite like Sevin- he was reminiscent of Kyland- from Mia Sheridan’s Sign of Love series in the fact that he was so, so selfless throughout this story. He is my favorite hero after Jake- Jake is my number one book hero of all time- and it will take a lot to get that to change, but Sevin was a close second. There are so many facets to his personality. He was kindhearted, but also rough and gritty. It was a culmination of everything he was put through in this story.

“No matter what happens, I’ll never forget this, the best night of my life.”

Then there were the goddesses of the story- Elle and Evangeline. Sisters separated by a year, and couldn’t be more different. I fell so much in love with the both of them. Where Elle was prim and proper, sweet and saccharine- Evangeline cared too much for everything, and she was the twang in a country song- perfect and meant to be, just as she was.

Then there were all the secondary characters that I fell in love with- Addy and Luke being the main two that were there- they were fantastic additions to this story. They had great advice, and they were family in times of need.

“You can’t choose love. It chooses you, and once that happens, it doesn’t let go. You can pretend it’s not there, but when you try, it only fights harder…louder…until you finally get the message and give in.”

I told Penelope that I loved the story so much, but I also felt like throwing up. That my heart was racing like crazy and it hurt- GOD did it hurt. And I figured out why it hurt- because within those pages, Penelope made me fall in love. In love with the writing- in love with the characters, in love with the way she weaved their story. So even though it hurt- it was worth it. Everyone needs to read this story. Everyone who loves to read, deserves this book, and that is my truth.

’Don’t ever leave me again.’ Kneeling down to meet his eyes, I clutched the back of his neck. ‘I would rather die than ever hurt you again.’”
