Ethan Davenport is already Boston’s most eligible bachelor, in his second season with the Boston Renegades and has eyes for the girl behind the visitors’ dugout who has been staring at him for a year.
That girl is Daisy Robinson, a journalism student at the University of Boston, a die-hard Renegades fan and determined to give Ethan a run for his money. He knows in order to have a chance with her, he needs to change his ways but he may just need her to wait until the off-season.
But with new found love comes challenges and Ethan and Daisy have to deal with his crazy schedule, school finals and his presence on her campus for some much needed media training. For Ethan nothing can come between him and Daisy, until a secret that she’s been keeping threatens to destroy them both.

Alison's 4 star review of Third Base - Heidi McLaughlin

I've been a Heidi McLaughlin fan since she introduced me to Josie Preston and Liam Page. I've followed her Beaumont series religiously and then she switched gears and brought us the sexy Archer brothers and I became an even bigger fan. When the opportunity came to read and review Third Base, I jumped at the chance and I was not disappointed.

Ethan Davenport has a reputation as the bad-boy third base player for the Boston Renegades. While some of the rumors are true, most of the stories written about him are false. With his second season with the team starting, Ethan has a problem, he's become the target for a gossip sports blog called the BoRe Blogger who appears hell bent on ruining Ethan's reputation and is only interested in writing negative reports to get readers talking.

When Ethan sets his sights on a mystery girl in the stands he's concerned that his reputation may be too much for her to handle, however, when he finally gets up the nerve to introduce himself, Daisy Robinson is even better than he ever imagined. "Walking with her like this feels as natural as baseball does - only baseball doesn't make me horny and she's definitely causing a reaction in my nether regions."

Heidi McLaughlin sucks you into the lives of her characters effortlessly. Even if you aren't a baseball fan, you will fall in love with Ethan and his team. The locker room shenanigans, on field ribbing and the highs and lows of the life of a professional athlete are brought to life in this book.

Third Base is written in Ethan's POV only  while dual POV is my usual preference, Heidi makes it work. I'd love to see Daisy's side at some point. She's a hard character to read and I'd love to know her thoughts on the sexy Ethan Davenport.
