Genres: Contemporary, Young Adult
Synopsis:
Alexis Wyndham is the other type of Queen B—the Queen Bitch.
After years of being the subject of ridicule, she revels in her ability to make the in-crowd cower via the exposés on her blog, The Eastline Spy. Now that she’s carved out her place in the high school hierarchy, she uses her position to help the unpopular kids walking the hallways.
Saving a freshman from bullies? Check.
Swapping insults with the head cheerleader? Check.
Falling for the star quarterback? So not a part of her plan.
But when Brett offers to help her solve the mystery of who’s posting X-rated videos from the girls’ locker room, she’ll have to swallow her pride and learn to see past the high school stereotypes she’s never questioned—until now.
My 4 star review of Confessions of a Queen B*
I really enjoyed this novel from Crista and it was first
novel from her. I must add her others to my TBR, which is miles long- but some
day! I liked the overall high school drama that ensues, and found it to be
definitely dramatic, but also pretty funny. It did remind me a bit of Mean
Girls, which reading the blurb about it, that’s what I expected
The book is set in high school around Alexis, who is considered
the Queen B, and it is written around two weeks that happen in her senior year.
it was a story that was focused on a relationship with Alexis and Brett, but it
also had a parenting project infused with that.
I really enjoyed Alexis, I though she was uber bitchy, but isn’t
that the title of the book? She is like my inner voice in high school. I was
kind of shy, but I had some of those same thoughts! She doesn’t give a flying
you-know-what what she says. But I also think that bitchiness is sort of a
front, and she is a bit insecure and only uses that persona to protect and
guard herself.
I liked Brett too. He is a football star- of course, and the
cocky kind. The best kind! Ha. He has more to him though, than meets the eye.
Especially since he is such a good big brother to his little sisters. He tries
anything and everything he can to get to Alexis, even if it means calling her
Lexi- which she hates. He just wants to show her he definitely does like her.
And obviously the gay bestie- Richard. He is great, and has
the best one liners in the book hands down. I love when the secondary
characters grow on me, as much as the main ones.
There will have to be another book, especially with how this one ended. I turned the last page expecting there to be more, but there just wasn’t. I can’t wait for the next installment and to see what happens to the Queen B gang!

AUTHOR BIO:
Growing up in small town Alabama, Crista relied on story-telling as a natural way for her to pass the time and keep her two younger sisters entertained.
She currently lives in the Audi-filled suburbs of Seattle with her husband and two children, maintaining her alter ego of mild-mannered physician by day while she continues to pursue writing on nights and weekends.
Just for laughs, here are some of the jobs she’s had in the past to pay the bills: barista, bartender, sommelier, stagehand, actress, morgue attendant, and autopsy assistant.
And she’s also a recovering LARPer. (She blames it on her crazy college days)
