Guest reviewer Alison's review!!
"The hand around my throat tightened in warning. His hold was strong and held me immobile in his arms. I slumped against him in defeat and despair. All strength and determination leaked out of my body."
Stella Harlow thought she was safe, thought the monsters that killed her family had finally stopped hunting her. She was wrong. After meeting a handsome stranger in a bar, Stella awakens tied to a bed with her worst nightmare coming true.
Born into a life of crime, for Atlas, death was a part of his day to day life. What he wasn't counting on was Stella's feisty resistance and what he needs from her is information and Stella won't give that up without a fight. "Atlas was still a monster, a ruthless killer, but not one I would fear. As with anything powerful and strong, there was a weakness. Atlas' weakness was me."
This book was dark and dirty and a little bit twisted...I liked that a lot. Atlas was not a book boyfriend, he was cold, hard and cruel and that was kind of hot!! He couldn't be saved and frankly he didn't want to be saved. It didn't take the love of a good woman to show him that he was on the wrong path. He was who he was and nothing was going to change that.
The plot line kept me riveted with so many twists and turns that I never expected. Stella was a fighter, she didn't want to change Atlas, she knew what he was...a killer, a protector...a monster.
