xo, Zach blog tour!!

The first time we met was at a party.

Your ex arrived to show off the person he'd left you for last month, and you asked me to pretend to be your date.

I was more than happy to help. You were attractive, smart and witty--and that kiss we shared? It left me wanting you for days.

The second time we met was in my office on campus where we were both surprised to discover you were the new master’s degree student in poetry that I would be working with. You promised to be professional. I did no such thing.

The late nights and intense study sessions spent alongside you majorly throw me off my game. I want you, and I fight with myself daily over this fact.

I know I'm crass, that my sexual innuendos and dirty mouth annoy you, but I live for those two bright spots of color in your cheeks. If that's the only reaction I can get out of you, I'll gladly take it.

You hate Mondays so every Monday I slip an anonymous poem into your bag and your smile gets me through the week.

I think I'm falling for you, and I know it's wrong. I know that I'm only supposed to be your adviser and nothing more, but here's the thing. I think you're falling for me too.

xo, Zach

XO, Zach is so damn good. I love Kendall Ryan and this is no different. I couldn’t put the book down and I read it from beginning to end in one sitting!
This forbidden counselor/student romance was well thought out and well written. Zach was hot, and his poetry delicious. Poppy was strong and soft at the same time. It was a cocktail I got drunk on and never wanted it to end.
Poppy is just out of a relationship with her asshat of a boyfriend. And when he brings a new gf to a party she is at, she goes up to the first hot guy she sees and asks him to pretend to be her boyfriend. It was kismet- and instant attraction for the both of them- having a really good conversation and mind blowing kiss, she didn’t want it to be over- and neither did he.  The next day Poppy went to meet her advisor for the new school year, guess who that might be?? Dun dun duhhhhhhh- Zach….
I adored Poppy. She is someone I could see being my friend, she is very driven at what she does. And above all- responsible. She is at first reluctant to start a thing with Zach, but slowly he starts to wear her resistance down. And it’s super endearing.
I swooned over Zach. He’s so sexy, and he mouth- the things he can do with his mouth. Not just in the bedroom, but in the little notes he leaves for Poppy too, which are super-hot. The chemistry right from the start between the two of them was to the point of combustion!
Side note- I also really enjoyed Zach’s mother, she was totally hilarious. She has no filter so that made for some really amazing scenes. It was great to show the mother/son bond here- I really enjoyed that part.

XO, Zach was a blast from start to finish- I loved the forbidden nature, I loved the back and forth banter between the two main characters- the side characters were also really well written. The plot had no holes that I could see, and it flowed seamlessly from start to finish. Overall, I really enjoyed this book
