Burnt Sugar by Layne Harper picks up where No Pink Caddy leaves off and is the continuation of Aaron and MK's story.

Burnt Sugar is not a standalone book and really cannot be read without first reading No Pink Caddy. Without the back story from NPK, Burnt Sugar really won't make sense.

After months of trying to get any sort of communication from Aaron, MK finally decides it's time to move on. With her own reality show in the works, she's determined to forget Aaron Knite exists. Just when she's in a good place, Aaron decides he wants her back and will do anything to get his girl.

I kind of wanted to punch Aaron in the junk and tell him to get his shit together. He obviously is in love with MK but has his head so far up his ass that he can't see how self destructive his path is. He wasn't the epitome of the book boyfriend...he was selfish and self centered and I wasn't sure I even liked him for most of NPK and Burnt Sugar.

I kind of wanted MK to move on and finally get her happily ever after and I wasn't convinced that Aaron was her forever love. I rooted for MK, I loved her character, she was strong and fierce and determined and although Aaron broke her heart, she didn't let him break her spirit.

Aaron does try to redeem himself in Burnt Sugar and seems to genuinely love MK but

I guess we'll have to wait and see if MK and Aaron get their HEA. Looks like there's more in store for this couple.
