The Effects of Falling blog tour!!

Title: The Effects of Falling
Series: The Weight of Rain Duet #2
Author: Mariah Dietz
Release Date: Aug 2, 2016
I have loved my best friend for eleven years.

Eleven years of celebrations.
Eleven years of victories and losses.
Eleven years of inside jokes and shared smiles.
Eleven years of helping him raise his daughter as a single father.

He smiles at me and my world brightens.
He ignores me and I forget how to function.
He holds my hand and takes more of my heart.
He leaves and time stops.

We have both lost too much, but am I willing to risk the effects of falling again?
The Weight of Rain (#1) – Released Oct 27, 2015
One night changed my life-one that I barely remember.
When I close my eyes, my mind paints a picture of his smile and shades the contours of his hands, the deep scar around his bicep.
I'm an artist, yet my hands are unsteady. With his presence, he has unknowingly broken that something inside of me that makes me who I am.
Being around him is like standing in a rainstorm. First the drops tickle my skin, and then they coat me, refusing to be ignored. Finally, they soak into me, reaching parts of me I don't think anyone has ever touched.
When dreams turn into reality, will the picture in my mind transfer to paper?

"I fell in love with Kashton Knight eleven years ago, and I know in my soul that he has loved me for just as long, so the details of why this shouldn't happen become every reason that it should."

If you like a friends to lovers story with a slow burn then The Effects of Falling by Mariah Dietz will not disappoint. This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it.

For 11 years Summer Pierce has been firmly in the friend zone. Her best friend
Kashton (Kash) Knight seemingly oblivious to her feelings until they spend one night that would change everything and possibly destroy the only family Summer has ever known.

They say that you don't know what you've got until it's gone and for Kash those words were never truer. Summer has been a constant in his life and his daughter's life for 11 years and it's not until the threat of losing her becomes a real possibility that Kash realizes what he may be giving up.

This story is told in Summer's POV and although I liked it, I missed knowing what was in Kash's head and what he was thinking throughout the story.

3.5*
