I need to get ready.” “For what?” His voice sounded raspy because we hadn’t spoken in so long. I cringed because I didn’t want to say it. “I’m seeing Brad.” Guilt flushed through me. I should ditch a nice guy so I can keep being your fuck buddy? He grabbed me again. “Why go to him when you have me? I make you happy. I give you what you need. It doesn’t make any sense to go out with him.   EXCERPT: I felt the distant burn. It was so foreign I wasn’t entirely sure what it was. But it was coming, and it was going to be powerful. “I think I’m going to come.” “No, Alessandra. You are going to come.” He leaned far over me, his pelvic bone rubbing against my clitoris as he slammed into me hard. The headboard smacked into the wall repeatedly, echoing loudly in the room. Ash gave it to me as hard as possible, and his chest dripped with sweat as he gave it to me good. And then it happened. It was like a cosmic explosion deep inside me. I was so hot and sweaty, but that suddenly felt good during the experience. My body tightened around him because my muscles had lost control. My nails dug into his hips as I yanked him harder into me, out of my mind in my euphoric state. “Ash…” He watched every expression I made, and he moaned as the fire burned in my eyes. “I love watching this.” My nails scratched his back as I finished the high. My 3.5 star review of Into the Fire

Into the Fire is my first EL Todd book. I enjoyed it. It was a well written book with developed characters a great plot line.

Ash is the hero. He is the epitome of cocky bastard. He is definitely full of himself, totally alpha, and sleeps around. But at the same time he is very tender and loyal to the ones that mean the most to him. He even loaned his life’s savings to his parents to save his business. They won’t, however, give him a penny back until he gets his act together- and that includes finding someone to settle down with.

Alessandra is the heroine, and her company- Gorgeous Entourage is going to help Ash out. She is a platonic escort, who Ash will hire to play his girlfriend. I love these kinds of stories, they always turn out awesome. They hate each other and then they love each other. Ash gets under Alessandra’s skin right out of the gate. And the hilarious banter and friction between the two are amazing.

Alessandra isn’t looking for a real relationship either- she is totally ok with just playing a girlfriend- but it seems Ash has other plans once he sets his sights on her. And when they finally get together the chemistry is off the damn charts amazing!! 

The different chapters in this book were awesome in range of emotions- happy, sad, and emotional and full of angst one minute and sweet the next. I really enjoyed the two of them together- and they found their matches in each other. I'd would say the reason it didn’t get 4 stars from me was the dialogue- it was in parts overdone and drawn out. And that would be the only reason, because I really enjoyed the writing.
