Runaway release day blitz, and review!

Runaway (Camryn Cruise #1) by Brina Courtney

RELEASE DAY BLITZ

Camryn Cruise is not human. But she doesn’t know what she is. Not yet.

The world is falling apart and her only escape is Camp Silverlake where she frequently stayed as a child. But Camryn’s summers weren’t filled with crafting and swimming, they were spent learning combat skills and how to protect herself from the outside world.

Now she must return to Camp Silverlake to learn the truth, about who she is and she’ll discover the secret hidden within her blood. A secret that could save them all.

~~~4 star review~~~
I really enjoyed this novella from Brina Courtney. It was written really well, and even though it was not what I typically read I was intrigued by it!
The plot grabbed me right away, and even though it’s about a forty one page novella, I still got a lot of the gist from reading the first part.
It starts off during a night when Camryn is hanging out with her best friend Kiley’s. They are hanging out together and have this really bizarre feeling like they are being watched.  It’s kind of like an apocalyptic feeling almost, because on the way home from their night, they see cars abandoned on the side of the road with little to no traffic
.
When a disease is set to plague and take over- Camryn takes Kiley to the place that she feels safe- Camp Silverlake. Not a normal kids camp with swimming and fishing, but a combative arts camp. Camryn learns all the skills to survive there.
I can’t wait to find out what happens next in this thrilling second installment. Brina Courtney has a really strong young adult voice, with a paranormal twist. Its kind of a breath of fresh air to a reader like myself.
