BOOK BLURB:
The lines we once crossed so easily have widened and torn us apart…
Once upon a time I thought Finn and I would live happily ever after, but real life doesn't always have a happy ending. He's testing my trust, and I'm losing faith in the man I thought I'd spend the rest of my life with, and there’s nothing I can do to stop it. He’s the one I trusted to keep me safe, but now he’s the source of my greatest pain…
Forgiveness is fragile, and some fractures never fully heal...
One mistake—a slip in a moment of weakness—might cost me everything I've worked so hard for. The thing about trust is that it's a lot easier to lose than it is to build. Just as I'm about to give up and surrender to the demons from my past, an unexpected threat reminds me what I'm best at: protecting the woman I love. Whether or not she wants me, I will fight for Carrie and our daughter, and I will keep them safe—no matter the cost.
Even if I have to put my life and my heart on the line.
My 4.5 star review
When I first started this book, I kinda was a little lost-
duh, I didn't read the first books in the Out of Line series. And after reading
Fractured Lines I was kicking myself, because this book was SO good. The book
boyfriend was dreamy, the heroine was strong and kick ass. So much angst- and
DAMN was it hot!!
In the last book- there was an HEA, but this story is 3
years later. They are married and have a little girl named Susan. Jen gives
such a REAL look into marriage. There are definitely highs and absolutely there
are lows. There are fights, and there are the times when we make up.
Previously in the books, Finn dealt with drugs- because of
his PTSD- and he kicked the habit. But he still had a hard time dealing with
the knowledge that when he was a soldier he watched friends and allies die, as
well as enemies and its really stuck with him. This book was an up and down
type- especially for poor Finn. And I really felt bad for Carrie- she really
wanted Finn to open up to her- I mean, hello, they are married. You would think
that he would want her help if he needed it, but he was so damn stubborn
Finn gets hurt on his job and while he was healing- that damn PTSD flairs up and gets inside of his head! He makes a mistake, and he very well could lose Carrie and Susan and everything he has worked so hard for. When you break trust, it is really hard to get it back, especially when it’s the SAME thing! I loved this aspect of the story though, it felt real. And I am so glad the author made them work, and grow together.
Finn doesn’t want Carrie to see him as “weak” making mistakes. He does not want to admit to Carrie that he has failed. Its hard because they have to face this together, and its almost like they really want to, but how many chances can one person give the other person the love before they change for the better?

I loved how they FOUGHT tooth and nail for the marriage, and
never gave up. And everyone else who reads this will too!
“I can’t lose you, Ginger. I’ve lived life without you, and I’ve lived it with you. I know which one is better. And I always have. I need you. If you keep pulling me closer, and reminding me what I could lose, I’ll get better, I swear it. And I know it’s true, because I can’t lose you again. I just can’t.”
