Guest reviewer Alison's 4 star review of Bind Me Before You Go
Cassidy Peyton is a 26 year old social worker who lives life carefully. Determined to break out of her shell she moves to New York. Her roommate Allie is determined to be the one to help Cassidy live a little and brings her to an exclusive BDSM club called Serve.
"And I thought you were going to be a cool roommate." She poked her finger at Cassidy. "You are truly and totally the dullest knife in the butcher block. No fun at all."
David Cavill is former military special ops turned Security Consultant with a unique sexual appetite. His kink of choice is Japanese Rope Bondage. When David meet Cassidy at Serve it's instant attraction.
"Jesus, if she was even half as magnificent as he suspected, he already knew he was in trouble."
David makes Cassidy an offer she can't refuse.
"Two weeks of the best sex of your life. Two weeks to help you discover that letting go of your inhibitions is a way to share yourself and your power, not blindly give it up." "How does that sound?" She swallowed. It sounded...Crazy? Exciting? Perfect? Terrifying?"
I'll be honest, the whole Dom/Sub theme is not generally my genre of choice and I was hesitant to agree to review it because I wasn't sure I could do it justice. I read the blurb and I can't tell you why, but I knew I had to read it. This book was so much more than Dom/Sub/BDSM. I fell in love with Cassidy immediately. She was snarky and fun but careful about who she trusted. Both David and Cassidy have been hurt and betrayed, Cassidy by her mother and David by his ex-fiancée. David is all alpha male, no mistake about it but there was a vulnerable side that intrigued me and I was curious about his backstory.
This book is not about David dominating Cassidy, it is not about sex or domination in fact that aspect was a very small part of the story. It is about finding yourself and learning that trusting another with your heart means giving up a little control and finding a balance and I liked that a lot.
