Blurb:
Stay. Stay with me. Stay here. Stay close. Stay like this forever. Stay as happy as I am right here in your arms, always.

All I’ve ever wanted was to be loved, but if this is what true love is…I’m not so sure I want it anymore. It also makes me wonder if any of my memories of our once happy marriage are even real. Maybe I just conjured up the fairy tale in my head because I wanted…no…needed it so much. Who the hell knows?
“Molly just called to remind you about your book club meeting this afternoon.” He turns away. “I told her you’ve never missed a meeting and I doubt today would be any different.”
The door shuts behind him before I let a smile creep across my lips. Instantly, the hurt from this morning flees my mind and I feel nothing but giddiness. I have a book club meeting today, and let’s just say it’s not your everyday book club.
Sure, my husband may never truly love me again…but who needs love when you’re about to get an eyeful of hot firemen?

Tell Me You Love Me is the first in a four-book series called Fire Me Up—a sweet romantic comedy series about a group of sassy neighborhood women who have a serious love for steamy romance novels and sexy firemen. Lucky for them the local firehouse is just a few steps away and is in no shortage of hot firefighters to fill their wild imaginations.
FIVE STARS!!!!!
I love Julie Prestsater! She always has the uncanny ability
to make me smile, even if the subject matter isn’t so great- there are usually
some awesome one liners that make up for the heavy stuff. In this new Fire Me
Up series, Julie tells the stories of these women that have formed a book club,
only its not just a book club- it’s a way to ogle the fireman hotties that work
in their neighborhood, and I can’t say that I blame them.
This first book centers on Liz. Or Lizzy as she is
affectionately called. And it starts off with her husband- whom I immediately hate-
Jace, basically calling her a fat cow as she runs up the hill. Over the course
of a few chapters you can see that Liz is an emotionally and verbally abused
woman. Short of hitting her physically- Jace delivers low blows in the form of “she’s
not good enough for me, so I’ll just bring her down.” Liz reminds me of me
sometimes, with how hard I am on myself about weight- but I have a totally
supportive husband who loved me at size 17 and size 8- and everywhere in
between, Liz- however, wasn’t so lucky to have that support. He bought her
workout videos as a “surprise” Douche. Canoe.
“I keep telling myself that once I lose the weight, everything will get
back to normal. He’ll love me again. Cherish me. Make my heart skip a beat like
he did in college when I met him our freshman year. A chuckle rises from my
belly. I should know better.”
But at a “book club,” gathering- Liz sees Ryan- and her
world is forever changed. She wants to get to know him, and when he looks at
her, she feels wanted. Something that she hasn’t felt in a long time.
Ahhh, Ryan. Ryans are always hotties. I’ve never been let
down by a book boyfriend named Ryan before, good call Julie. And not only hot-
but sweet, attentive, and really makes my girl Lizzy feel wanted.
“His gaze traces up and down my body, but he doesn’t look at me with disgust
like Jace. It’s a completely different stare, making me feel hot and vulnerable
at the same time. I notice my heart beat faster at his appraisal of me...of my
body. He doesn’t seem repulsed. If anything he seems attracted.”
He likes her from the get go, only thing is- the more he
gets invested, in Lizzy, the more painful it’s going to be when he finds out
she’s married. And I just kept waiting of for the other shoe to drop- and it
did.
I loved ALL the secondary characters- men and women. Well,
except of course Jace. I can’t wait for Molly, Rachel, and Rose’s story- and
more of my firemen!!
After the epilogue- there was a short snippet of the next
story- and I can’t wait to see what happens with Molly and her mysterious
lover.
Julie never disappoints with her writing- and never with the
funny, she’s got that down pat. A couple knee slappers I highlighted:
“Sweating his ass off, my ass. If he wants to know what its likes to
sweat his ass off, he should come stick his hand down my crack.”
And
“Oh no. Molly and I tried that last year. Remember? I swear I sh** a
lava lamp. All I needed was a black light in my bathroom.”
And my favorite….
“When did your di** invert itself into a fu***** vag***? Grow a pair.”
